Suffering from writer’s block? Feel like there is simply no “juice” left to write? Well to be honest, that’s exactly where I was at!
So often we get caught up in having the best routines, making sure our to-do lists are in tip top shape, and yet by the end of the day, or even in your scheduled writing time, you feel like there’s just no motivation to write. Many times this may not even be because of tiredness or a long list of tasks for the day. Sometimes it just comes down to your ability to hone into your creativity and really tell a story of value.
This week I was faced with this sudden “blank mind”. Although I started out the day with so much to say, I just couldn’t find the core value. My mind was locked, so to speak. When we get to this point it is often times so easy to just give up, take the night off, and hope for a better try tomorrow. But somehow I just didn’t think that was a good enough option, so saddled up for some creative inspiration!

We all know that to be a creative and write content of value you need to 1) Write a lot, and 2) Read a lot. So if the writing isn’t flowing, the next best choice of action is to read! There are so many amazing blogs, journals, and other sources available to us, that it is almost impossible not to be inspired! The key is to foster your creativity, find out what you value most, and remind yourself why you’ve set out to do this in the first place. Don’t forget your “why”!
So how can you over come that pesky writer’s block? Here are 7 tips to inspire your creativity and to create valuable, actionable content every day.
1. Visit New Places
Travel more, change your environment, and work from a new place or restaurant. Let the new surroundings inspire you with new ideas through unique encounters. Discovering local treasures or hidden gems can be just the enlightenment you need.
2. Connect with People Outside of Your Daily Routine
Network with people outside your industry to create a new perspective and to open your mind to new ways of thinking. Change your routine with new details or outings and connect with other artists and see how they do it. This new point of view will stimulate your mind to think outside the box, and start being more creative.
3. Express Yourself More
Find opportunities for creativity. This can be something as simple as listening to music while you work, going dancing, singing, painting, or just trying out new things. Don’t be afraid of what others might think, instead let yourself experience all that life has to offer. There are always new things to learn from others, you just have to be willing to listen.

4. Exercise or Go for Walks
Explore nature! Go hiking, take a bike ride, feed the birds, take your dog for a walk, or simply join a group, or exercise class at the gym. Exercising outdoors and socializing with others stimulates our minds to be more creative.
5. Read a Novel
The creative story allows your brain to think differently. It takes you away from your current situation, and off to a different place. Your mind automatically creates a story and a plan for the characters, which lets you think more creatively. Use this pattern of thinking to be re-inspired and to fuel your creative brain.
6. Say Things Differently
One great way to do this is to use 5 new words every week. This gives you the opportunity to integrate new meanings and sayings into your every day speak. Another example is to write different titles for the same article. This “brainstorming” action will allow you to see things in a different light. And finally, create new quotes for yourself, your business, and your brand. Quotes are inspirational, and allows you to have fun a with writing creatively.
7. Schedule Time to Relax
In order to be truly creative, you have to notice the little things. Be present in your life and appreciate how far you’ve come. Allowing yourself some self-reflection time can free up your mind and allow you to express your creativity more easily. This break can take you away from the task at hand just long enough to regain your creative inspiration.
