Hello lovelies! Today I wanted to share the one day juice cleanse I did thanks to Cru Juice, a local cold-pressed juicery right here in Calgary. Those of you following along on Snapchat will know that after all the holiday eats and treats I thought it was time to kick it into gear and start off a clean eating month with a juice cleanse. I absolutely love Cru Juice for this! Their juices have the most fun names, and are so delicious. For the one day cleanse you get to pick 6 juices; 2 green, 1 fruit, 1 root, 1 nut, & 1 lemonade. The juices come with fun labels so you know exactly which order to drink them in :) Now as for the experience itself, after the first 3 I did feel a bit shaky and low on energy. However, I have to say these juices kept me full after drinking each one. But the best of all is that my blood sugar started to stabilize itself, for the first time in forever! So for those of you looking for that restart and reboot to end the summer off strong, definitely check them out <3

Hello my loves! We are travelling the west coast and I am so enjoying all the fresh food and the chic restaurants around downtown. It is beautiful and green here in Vancouver, and I just cannot get enough of being out by the harbour, going for a run in the mornings, and visiting every little coffee shop we can find.

Today I’m excited to share with you this delicious strawberry choc mint smoothie. This smoothie is definitely a go-to for me when I am looking for a boost of energy and has some incredible flavors to boot

 
. It’s great as a breakfast or even a post-workout snack. Smoothies are totally my favorite pick me ups, especially when I am running late or having a busy day of errands. They are quick to make, and delicious to taste :)

// what you need:
+ 3-4 fresh strawberries
+ mint leaves
+ 1/2 frozen banana
+ 1 teaspoon chia seeds
+ 1 teaspoon flax seeds
+ 1/2 cup oats
+ 1 teaspoon coconut
+ a few squares of dark chocolate
+ handful of ice
+ 1 cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk

// blend all ingredients together in a blender, and enjoy! <3

Morning lovelies! Today on the blog I am sharing one of my favorite breakfasts, eggs & arugula. I am an absolute sucker for poached eggs, and try out new methods whenever I can. For this recipe I used my Nordic Ware microwave egg poacher (link below). This is perfect for me, especially when I am having a busy morning and need to make some quick poached eggs on the run, which I know my husband will also enjoy. Together with this I add a whole grain English muffin with avocado, arugula (which some of you may know as “rocket”), and a squeeze of lemon as always! Season with pink Himalayan sea salt & pepper to taste. As a refreshing drink I paired this delicious breakfast with some blackberry infused water, just to finish it all off. // what you need:
+ eggs & poacher
+ 1/2 avocado
+ 1/2 whole grain English muffin
+ fresh arugula (rocket) & kale mix
+ slice of lemon
+ pink himalayan sea salt & pepper to taste

Hello my loves! Today I want to share with you this chicken & broccoli recipe. I absolutely love these boneless skinless chicken thighs, and buy them in bulk from Costco :) This recipe is perfect for a lighter dinner, filled with incredible flavours and aromas. I love throwing together something quick, while still eating healthy and clean. <3

// what you need:
+ boneless skinless chicken thighs
+ chopped red, yellow, and orange pepper
+ broccoli florets
+ slice of lemon
+ himalayan sea salt & pepper
+ parsley, thyme, Italian herbs, and greek seasoning
+ parmesan cheese
+ extra virgin olive oil for cooking

// what you do:
+ boil or steam broccoli florets in a large pot
+ sear peppers in a skillet with olive
+ season chicken thighs with spices, salt & pepper, & a squeeze of lemon
+ move peppers to outer edges of skillet
+ place chicken thighs in the middle of skillet & cover
+ let cook & simmer, turning occasionally
+ serve chicken & peppers with broccoli & parmesan cheese
