Food, Lifestyle, Recipes

Hello lovelies! This week I got to try out the amazing ready-to-eat meals from The Meal Tree, and today on the blog I thought I would share all about it! Running a company full-time definitely keeps me crazy busy and although I love cooking, I just haven’t been able to find the time lately. I am always searching for ways to improvise and save time, so I have to say Meal Tree has been a lifesaver!

It is super easy to order from The Meal Tree, especially with their brand new website. There you can access their full menus, which is a core menu as well as a seasonal menu. You can either pick the Recurring Order, the Easy Order, or simply pick a meal from the menu. The best of all is they deliver either on a Monday or a Thursday, so you are covered with delicious ready-to-eat meals all week long!

California Bento Bowl

The meals come prepared and delivered in an amazing freezer bag, which is great to use again. For my first lunch I ordered the California Bento Bowl and man, was it ever tasty! It was literally exactly what I envisioned, and I secretly wish I had ordered one for every single day of the week. SO good!! Everything is so flavorful, and the mango sauce is incredible! So fresh, and the perfect pairing with the bowl.

Apple & Sage Tenderloin

For dinner I had the Apple & Sage Tenderloin, which included baby potatoes, roasted veggies with mashed apple to compliment. Those roasted peppers were to die for! It was literally so easy to heat up, and plate to perfection and I was back to work in no time. The best part is that your meals can be adapted to your preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options!

Salmon Dijon

On day two I chose the Salmon Dijon because lately salmon has been my go-to lunch. It is perfect on a bit of quinoa or even on a salad! Okay, so can I just stop here for a second – this cranberry almond quinoa that came with the salmon had me stuffing my face! Absolutely soooo good. Definitely a winner, and the whole combo was just so flavorful, you wouldn’t even believe.

Alberta Smoked Brisket

Finally, for my last dinner, I thought I would end it off with the Alberta Smoked Brisket. The brisket is a local smoked Alberta brisket, paired with grilled asparagus and some zesty mashed yam. Again, the flavors were incredible and I definitely loved the mashed yam. Big thumbs up!

So impressed by The Meal Tree and they are just an incredible team working hard to deliver quality products, and give you back your precious time! Best of all? A Birthday Dinner at the Guild Calgary

Food, Lifestyle

Hello lovelies! Have any of you been to The Guild here in Calgary before? What an incredible place! For some reason it seems to be a bit of a birthday spot for us. The first time we had dinner at the Guild was for my hubby’s birthday last year when my gorgeous sister-in-law, Linda, and I took him out for a surprise celebration. // Check out Linda’s blog, Tales From a Foodie, here!

What a great spot in the city! The look and feel of the Guild is so different from the norm, with big freezers full of meat and a big open feel to the restaurant. The food is incredible! So surprize, surprize we absolutely had to come again for my brother-in-law’s birthday! We started the evening with the Steak Tartare & Roast Bone Marrow and Crispy Calamari as appetizers. Our plates were clean before we could even look twice – D-licious!! For mains I had the Braised Wagyu Beef Bourguignon, my sister and her husband both had the Lambtastic Farms Lamb Shank, and my husband had the classic Dry-Aged Beretta Farms Chuck Burger, of course! Hehe. All our mains for incredible, the meat was so tender and flavorful.

Finally, we ended the evening off with some dessert. My sister had the O&Bc Carrot Cake, I had the Sticky Maple Butter Pudding, and the boys each had the Flourless Dark Chocolate Tart. Need I say more? Absolutely to die for! So grateful for good memories and special times together. What do you do to celebrate special occasions? <3

Interior Décor Inspiration from the Vivace Suites

Fashion, Lifestyle

by Streetside Developments

Hello lovelies! What a gorgeous day to be inspired! Today on the blog I’m sharing the lovely new Vivace suites by Streetside Developments here in Calgary. So if you’re looking for a little interior design inspiration, you’ve come to the right place! One of my most favorite things in the world is walking into a house, completely furnished and designed right down to the cute little teaspoon! The Vivace suites are so beautifully done, and definitely give so much life to each of the places. It’s always so much easier to actually picture yourself living there when it’s already designed.

My husband and I love exploring new developments in the city to see exactly what is on the market and keep our eyes open for our next spot, perhaps? The Vivace suites have a few different options, including two bedroom and three bedroom suites. Each has a unique layout, to suit your preferences. We had such a fun time, taking some snapshots, being treated to yummy macaroons, and of course a latté thanks to the lovely Monogram Coffee! Where do you find your home décor inspiration from? <3

Napa Valley Wine Tasting at Willow Park Wines

Food, Lifestyle

Hello Lovelies! Today on the blog I’m sharing our amazing time at the Napa Valley Wine Tasting with Willow Park Wines & Spirits here in Calgary. We had such a great time, and learned more than I even thought was possible. It was a special connoisseur event led by their Fine Wine Director, Peter Smolarz, who highlighted some of the Napa Valley regions’ best wines. Peter also discussed the different vintages for collectors to know, along with key wineries to watch! Check out our experience on the vlog here.

There were eight of us attending the event, which was set up in the private tasting room. Upon arrival we each received a glass of the Domaine Carneros Brut and explored all the wine region maps. We got to taste six different wines from the Napa Valley region, and they were all perfectly matched with food pairing suggestions. I was so amazed by how delicious the food was! We had grilled salmon with dill, a delicious cheese plate complete with dried figs and grapes, as well as some roast beef and mushroom crostinis – YUM!

It is so incredible all you can learn about a different region just by the wine that is produced and the flavors and aromas that come along with it. Learning more about the Napa Valley region made me want to be there, now! I think it is definitely a must-see trip for us in the future. At the end of the evening we proceeded down to the wine festival where we got to try some of their featured wines, and more amazing food! Such an incredible night! What are some of your favorite wine regions in the world? <3
