Hello lovelies! Today on the blog is a little #ThrowbackThursday to the amazing Dîner en Blanc event in Calgary. Dîner en Blanc is a world-wide event where guests show up all dressed in white, set up their picnic tables, and proceed to have a feast! The location for the event is revealed last minute, and this year in Calgary it took place at the Shaw Millenium Park. It was absolutely stunning with all the white tables on the big open park, with a fun atmosphere of music, eating, and even some dancing :)

Each year thousands of guests continue to gather at a secret location with the sole purpose of sharing a gourmet meal with good friends at the heart of one of our city’s most beautiful locations. This year I had the privilege to attend with several other blogger gals and guys, with a special tasting of the featured wines of the evening as well as some yummy eats prepared by Chef Andrew Gass. We had tons of fun and definitely enjoyed our beautiful city coming together to celebrate! Will you be attending the next Dîner en Blanc Calgary? <3

Hello Loves! Is anyone else out there a huge fan of some classic fish & chips take-out? One of my favorite memories as a kid is driving out to Hout Bay to the Mariners Wharf to get fish & chips takeout, and sit on the deck overlooking the boats in the harbor! So now, whenever we get the chance we love having a little fish & chips picnic, even if it’s in the middle of the Prairies :)

We always go for the classic fish & chips combo from a cute little place called Gibson’s Fish & Chips in Saskatoon. They always prep their takeout packages in newspaper, tied together with a string. Absolutely love, love the authentic details! Not to mention, the food is amazing. Reminds me so much of being in London, stopping for fish & chips on the street after a long day of being “tourists” – which is another one of my favorite things to do. Mind you, I love being a tourist in my home countries as well. Life is absolutely more fun that way! What are some of your favorite memories? <3

Hello Lovelies! It’s the weekend, and today on the blog I’m sharing one of my all-time favorite summer go-to’s… a perfectly chilled glass of Chateau Souverain Rosé! The story of Chateau Souverain begins with their founder, J. Leland “Lee” Stewart, who harvested his first crop of grapes from Howell Mountain vineyard in Napa Valley in 1944. Stewart used innovation and incredible standards along with his natural gift for winemaking to establish Souverain as one of the great wineries in California.

This summer they launched a brand new addition to their wines; introducing the Chateau Souverain Rosé, perfect for warm summer days and afternoons on the deck. Since the seasons are changing, I have pulled out the long sleeve and a cozy blanket to enjoy with a glass of rosé instead :) Whether it’s a spread of cheese and crackers, a bowl of fruit, or perhaps some s’mores by the fire, there is always a fun weekend occasion for the tastes of Napa Valley wines. What are some of your favorite summer memories? <3

Hello there lovelies! First of all, I just have to say, it has been one heck of an adventurous summer! In April we headed off to South Africa for a wonderful visit with the family, then came home and continued our travels, spending time soaking up the sun and enjoying every moment of summer. One of my favorite memories was having lunch at Brewhaha Micro-Brewery in Jeffreys Bay with the fam.

We just had the most amazing meal. The restaurant is located on the main road of the little surfer’s town, and of course Jacques had to try their famous chicken burger!! We also got to try the fruity and refreshing Nederburg Rosé, perfectly paired with my fresh avocado summer salad! Nothing better on a summers day :) Life is made up of all these precious moments and it is so fun to look back at the good food and the fun memories! What are some of your favorite summer memories? <3

California Bento Bowl

The meals come prepared and delivered in an amazing freezer bag, which is great to use again. For my first lunch I ordered the California Bento Bowl and man, was it ever tasty! It was literally exactly what I envisioned, and I secretly wish I had ordered one for every single day of the week. SO good!! Everything is so flavorful, and the mango sauce is incredible! So fresh, and the perfect pairing with the bowl.

Apple & Sage Tenderloin

For dinner I had the Apple & Sage Tenderloin, which included baby potatoes, roasted veggies with mashed apple to compliment. Those roasted peppers were to die for! It was literally so easy to heat up, and plate to perfection and I was back to work in no time. The best part is that your meals can be adapted to your preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options!

Salmon Dijon

On day two I chose the Salmon Dijon because lately salmon has been my go-to lunch. It is perfect on a bit of quinoa or even on a salad! Okay, so can I just stop here for a second – this cranberry almond quinoa that came with the salmon had me stuffing my face! Absolutely soooo good. Definitely a winner, and the whole combo was just so flavorful, you wouldn’t even believe.

Alberta Smoked Brisket

Finally, for my last dinner, I thought I would end it off with the Alberta Smoked Brisket. The brisket is a local smoked Alberta brisket, paired with grilled asparagus and some zesty mashed yam. Again, the flavors were incredible and I definitely loved the mashed yam. Big thumbs up!

So impressed by The Meal Tree and they are just an incredible team working hard to deliver quality products, and give you back your precious time! Best of all?
