Hello, lovelies! As you may know by now, brunch is one of my favorite meal times… ever! :D For my hubby’s birthday, we tried out the brunch at Charbar, down by the river. Their menu is always so unique, and they offer delicious Phil & Sebastian coffees too! For breaky Linda and I opted for the crushed whole avocado on toasted sourdough with fried eggs, and of course, added bacon! My Hubby had the village breakfast with beef chorizo, bacon, eggs, and sourdough. We were also completely spoiled with a little sweet starter, on the house! We got to try to deep-fried french toast bites with dulce de leche caramel dipping sauce… YUM! :) Definitely a must-try when you stop in for brunch at Charbar. What are some of your favorite brunch spots in the city? Xo

Hello lovelies! And happy Wednesday to you all :) One of the things I absolutely love is shopping at the waterfront, strolling through the craft markets and stopping in for lunch date. So today on the blog I am sharing a memory from our time in Cape Town earlier this year, spending time with the family at Primi Piatti. The V&A Waterfront is one of my most favorite spots in Cape Town, and we always try a new spot to eat! This time we stopped in at Primi Piatti, which has amazing views over the ocean. It was a chilly day, so of course, I opted for the warm, delicious baked mac & cheese :D Plus, a latté! Best way to keep warm. Love being able to look back on these memories, and excited to go on some more foodie travel adventures soon! <3
Hello Lovelies! It’s Throwback Thursday on the blog today! On our travels to South Africa earlier this year, the first place we stopped in with the family was Old Town Italy in Pretoria. Ah, we had such a great time!! The whole vibe of the place is amazing, with a bit of a market feel to one side, the restaurant on the other, and just such a simple, slow-paced way of life. They definitely portray a time when everything ran by a much more romantic set of values.. a time when a visit to your local grocery store was more of a social event than a chore, where the butcher knew your preferences, and the baker greeted you by name. Love it!
Since there is usually a wait, we started out at their wrap-around bar, trying drinks by recommendation – amazing! It wasn’t long before we got to sit at our table, in a big bay window, enjoying the classic old-town feel. We had everything from a warm quinoa salad, to calamari, to steak, pasta, and my favorite, the fresh beet summer salad! Of course, we started it all off with a fresh bread basket, with olive oil and balsamic to dip. Such an incredible day, and I love being able to look back at these precious memories together with family! <3
Hello Lovelies! Hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday :) Today on the blog I am sharing all about one of my favorite lunch spots right here in our beautiful city of Calgary. We love trying new places and whenever we find a good one I absolutely have to share it with you all! This particular place is called River Café Restaurant, and it is actually located in Prince’s Island Park. Um.. beautiful location alert!! We always stop over in Eau Claire Village and take a nice walk down to the park before popping in for a lunch.
This time we went with the whole fam, and even though it was super chilly out the sun shining in through the big glass windows kept it nice and cozy inside. Their menu is always centered around Seasonal Canadian Cuisine, with a focus on honoring simple, quality ingredients. They are a locally sourced restaurant, with all their breads and desserts made in-house, daily. Their Highwood Crossing Rye Sourdough bread is absolutely amazing!
Around our table we enjoyed the Dry Aged Duck, the TK Ranch grass-fed beef burger, and a deliciously warm pot pie. More than that, we just had a fabulous time talking about our plans for travel, the new season, and just enjoying the sunshine while it’s out! Great food and great people.. what else could a girl want? :) What are some of your favorite spots to visit in Calgary? <3
Hello Lovelies! Can’t believe it’s already Friday, and what a better time for a delicious waffle cone full of creamy ice-cream! During the Fringe Festival in Saskatoon this summer, we had such a fun time perusing through all the food trucks, enjoying drinks and eats on the rooftop patio, and getting our fill of ice-cream to end off the night!
Before our stroll home, we stopped at the Mean Green Ice Cream Machine. Of course, I went for the maple walnut flavor while Linda had the cookies & cream – both so good! As the evening air cooled off, it was nothing but warm sweaters and coffee before bed. The perfect sweater weather to end off the perfect day! What are some of your favorite adventures this summer? <3
